2018 Lodge Excellence Summit Recap
Written by Tristan Niedzielski
On Saturday February 17th, Section NE-1 held the 2018 Lodge Excellence Summit (LES). This annual day-long training brought together the lodge leaders from across the section to form them as a team and launch the year's programs. Many innovative solutions were discussed this year to address the real problems in each and everyone of our Lodges. These creative and energetic leaders gathered in Exeter, New Hampshire; excited to learn new ways to improve their own lodges. LES began with an introduction to a new course format created by the Section leadership. The day was broken into three Think Tanks, each with a short introduction of a topic, followed by a scenario relating to the topic, then breakout sessions where the scenario was discussed; and concluded by presentations on what was discussed in each groups breakout session. While all attending youth were in the Think Tanks about Election Rate, led by Cameron Killian, and Induction Rate, led by Conor Power, all adults attending were in separate sessions discussing the role of adults in a youth run organization. Adults then joined the youth for a third Think Tank, Activation Rate led by Mike Guertin. After a short break for lunch, Section NE-1 commenced its February Council of Chiefs meeting which brought to an end another exceptional Section NE-1 Lodge Excellence Summit. Now equipped with many innovative solutions to their own lodge problems, many lodge leaders will bring these solutions back to their own lodges.
